Daffs in the breeze
An experiment that didn't work as well as I had hoped for, but interesting nonetheless.
Daffodils waving in the breeze with rear curtain flash. I had hoped for a wavy mass of yellow fronted by a crisp set of flowers frozen in time but my SB-600 flash simply wasn't powerful enough to overwhelm the sunlight sufficiently. Perhaps if I brought a couple of studio strobes I might have enough light to make it work the way I hoped. Still, one never learns unless one experiments.
ISO125, 1s, ND1000 filter, 100mm (ish), D850, SB-600, tripod.
No, it's not framed well. No, the camera angle wasn't right. And there are loads of other things wrong. This was an experiment to see whether the basic tech worked; if it had done, I'd have carried on and made something a bit more artistic.
Since taking this I have obtained a bit more power on the portable flash front. Now all I need is another sunny but windy day while the daffodils are still in bloom!
