My Grandfather's Peonies
Besides food and dining, I have many other interests (I'm not *that* one-dimensional!). During the temperate months, I'm an avid gardener.
The peony is my favorite flower. I think it's because they are so big-hearted and generous - just like my grandfather, who taught me how to garden. Although they have a tragically short blooming season, in that narrow window of time when they are at their peak, peonies radiate with a beauty and fragrance that seem boundless
These are my grandfather's peonies, which I moved from his yard to mine after he passed away. Every year, in May, they come back, in all their matronly splendor to remind me of him.
