Notes: This six-layer almond cake is layered with a home-made cranberry-caramel jam.
Half-way through making this cake, I realized why this was a "lost dessert." It is a pain to make. Of course, I made my own cranberry jam from scratch, which isn't required by the recipe. But, I figured, if I were to go through all the trouble of making the dough and rolling out (and chilling, and baking) six layers of almond cake, then I sure as heck wasn't going to just use store-bought jam.
