caecilian eating

here he is feeding on frozen (and defrosted!) bloodworm (Midge larvae). They're fasinating to watch. They seem to be nearly or completely blind (notice the small eye , hunting by smell as they emerge from there burrows after the bloodworm is put in and nudge there way throught the gravel until they find a bloodworm, often missing them. They swim exactly like sea snakes and eels which is great fun to watch :)
