Casino Night and Charity Toast
On Friday, May 5, the Medical Student Government Association hosted the Charity Toast and Casino Night at the Hilary J. Boone Center. The annual Charity Toast honored (and toasted) the career of Dr. Peter Sawaya, M.D., Director, Nephrology Fellowship Training Program, and Interim Director, CCTS-Clinical Services Core. There were authentic casino games with professional and celebrity faculty dealers, a magician, and a fun photo booth. There was also a silent auction that included local art, and several gifts from local entertainment venues and restaurants.
All proceeds from the Charity Toast and Casino Night will benefit the UKCOM Salvation Army Clinic, a student-run clinic located in the Lexington Salvation Army that provides free medical care to underserved patients and offers early clinical exposure to medical students.
