Lomo 06▸08

Umm yeah, boring shot I guess. I scanned this and the next shot myself, since the scans from the photolab were a bit weird. Check the photolab scan of this shot below. Which one do you like better?

    • Lomo LC-A
    • Kodak Portra 160VC
    • No post-processing or editing!

I bought my 2nd ones (dark greyish ones) last week...after nearly 14 years...back then I had dark red ones like wine red...but I love how far away they seem from your legs...very cool shot.

Hmm I'm not sure which I prefer, but yeah I found that when I got some film scanned twice, there's a lot of colour correction/editing that goes on. So I think it's only just that you allow yourself to have a tiny bit control of the colour tones and contrast too.

Thanks for the comments guys and girls!

      That's great! :D

Yeah, I read that scanning negatives always needs some tweaking. I'd love to know what settings the photolab scanner uses though, it always seems to be a bit processed or something. My own scans have more natural colours.

I am well tempted to buy a film scanner after seeing the prices of how much it costs to scan it in adds up. Especially since I'm shooting with lomos a lot now. I find that most labs I've seen all use fuji machines and their software, which I assume they just hit the auto setting after scanning the film.

After Asda (a supermarket here) messed up my scanning, I got to go right up to the machine/pooter to sort out what was missing :P

It's especially cheaper to scan your 120 film yourself. It costs 12 euros to scan a roll!

    31. dreamyourealive 62 months ago | reply

I don't have any medium format cameras, I'm just sick and tired of labs cocking up on scanning, and in some cases poor attempts at the developing of prints too :/ Maybe I should dish out for a proper lab, but there aren't any here. And it's pricey to mail off
