Westminster Hall Somewhereto_
As part of our Arts in Parliament programme for 2012, Parliament joined up with Somewhereto_ - a ground-breaking London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Legacy Project - to use Westminster Hall as a ‘somewhereto_ dance’ dream space.

Funded by Legacy Trust UK, somewhereto_ is a nationwide project to help young people find the space they need to do the things they love within sport, culture and the arts.

The dance crew, made up of four dancers aged 16-25, were granted exceptional permission to perform in the historic space of Westminster Hall. We were really keen to be part of somewhereto_, using the historic setting of Westminster Hall as way of engaging young people and making them realise Parliament is exciting and relevant. If young people can unlock the historic space and be inspired, then they should feel empowered to make creative use of spaces in their own communities. Dancers Jayde, Russell, Chloe and Macauley used this unique opportunity to film an ident that featured as part of Channel 4’s Street Summer season.

You can watch both the Westminster Hall Somewhereto_ film and the behind the scenes footage on Parliament’s website.
