House of Commons Speaker meets London groups at outreach events in Parliament
On Thursday 20 January, Parliamentary Outreach hosted three events in the Palace of Westminster for different groups of Londoners.

The events were designed to inform those attending about the work of Parliament and to encourage their participation in that work.

Mr. Speaker spoke to all three groups and took questions on his work and the work of the House of Commons.

The three groups involved were: The Media Trust, who work with media organisations and charities to enhance their communications and to enable communities to get their voices heard; Young Enterprise London, which is part of the national Young Enterprise organisation that works with young people around the UK to inspire and prepare them to succeed in a global economy; and the Asian Health Agency, and independent sector agency that provides support services to black and minority ethnic communities.

The events were part of Parliamentary Outreach’s ongoing work to increase public awareness of and participation in the proceedings of Parliament.
