Close-up of the west and north-facing clock-faces of the Clock Tower (Big Ben).

The shields between the belfry stage and the cast iron roof represent: the red and white rose of the Tudor dynasty, the portcullis for the Tudors, the pomegranate for Katherine of Aragon, the thistle for Scotland, the leek for Wales, shamrock for Ireland and the fleur de lis for France.
