Politics of Food

UHWO's Politics of Food is a service learning class taught every spring where participants go to farms and other food system related sites on O'ahu to offer service on Saturday mornings.

On Saturday, February 8, 2014, UH West O'ahu students pulled weeds in a field of lettuce, kale, and beets at MA'O Organic Farms followed by a tour of the entire farm and packing shed. MA'O Organic Farms is a non-profit social enterprise located in Wai'anae that employs college-bound youth to foster leadership skills and put the value of aloha 'aina into action.
