Illustration: "Wela Ka Hao!"

On the way--full speed.

[In the illustration, the man driving the car is Walter Francis Frear, the third Territorial Governor of Hawaii from 1907 to 1913. The man in the back of the car, "Kupid," is Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole, who served as Hawaii's delegate to the U.S. Congress from 1903 to 1922. "Taft" written on the car refers to William Howard Taft, the U.S. President at the time.

In the late 1800s, the Hawaiian Gazette's political cartoons humorously illustrated local issues and debates about them. They often illustrated Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole, the delegate representing Hawaii in Congress, and other local politicians. ]
