I was making Kona Coffee Ganache (recipe from Chocolate Obsession by Michael Recchiuti and Fran Gage) today for my friend's wedding next weekend. With left over Kona coffee beans and tempered dark chocoalate, the Kona Coffee Bars were born. According to Recchiuti, "Kona coffee beans, grown in Hawaii, are low in acid and have a mild, mellow taste that doesn't compete with the chocolate [...] , but instead adds complexity." I'm only a social coffee drinker, but I like this combination.
