(German) Scottish Highland Games: Tossing the Caber.
"British Flair" is a fair for British lifestyle taking place once a year for a weekend on the Polo field of Hamburg Polo Club in Hamburg. It comes with attractions like Scottish and Irish Folk Music, Side Saddle Riding Display, Storytellers and English Theatre Performances, Vintage Car Concours, Sheep Dog Trials, Jack Russell’s Display, Cricket and Rugby Tournaments, Falconry Display, Scottish Country Dancing, Wellington Boot Tossing and Scottish Highland Games (with tossing the caber, putting the stone, throwing the 16lb hammer, throwing the 28lb weight etc.).
The annual highlight is the British Flair Open Air Proms Concert on Saturday night where everyone bring their picnic equipment (from the mere picnic blanket to a completely equipped dinner table including lace tablecloth, candles, crystal wine glasses and sterling cutlery), listen to classical music and sing along to British songs such as “Rule Britannia”, “Jerusalem, or “Land of Hope & Glory” - no matter what the weather is like.
