Chrysopylae

Spent my birthday cruising around the San Francisco Bay with my wife, kids and my sister. It was very cloudy in the morning but my mid-day, the sun decided to show up. We had a lot of fun.

This bridge has been photographed a billion times but this was my first time to view it from this angle. If you look closely, the middle portion of the bridge's underside looks gray and there's a safety net close to the tower. The net is for a crew of painters who continuously touch-up the bridge's paint, which is called "International Orange." The bridge is named after the Golden Gate Strait, the entrance to the San Francisco Bay from the Pacific Ocean.
