Workshop in Gjøvik
As last year, 2012, Veronika held a week-long type workshop in Norway at the University in Gjøvik. The students, in their final 3rd year, were asked to design a text typeface starting with sketching for 2 days and then moving on to digitize their work. The remaining 3 days were spent tracing the scanned shapes and then fine-tune and expand the character set. The workshop was accompanied by several short theoretical lectures about bezier curve drawing, optical corrections and principles of letter drawing.
The second part of the workshop, 3 weeks later, was dedicated to more technical issues, such as opentype features, kerning, multiple-master technology and more.
