A remix of this photo which I’ve lost the original edits of.

I stayed up late and took 30 second bulb exposures of the night sky at Yosemite. Where I live, you’d be lucky to see a couple stars, but in Yosemite valley, you can imagine this is what the night sky looked to the ancients. (I had no trouble picking out the Milky Way and tried to get part of it in this shot.)

If someone can tell me some of the stars, I'd generate a screenshot of where I actually am. I didn’t think to use my compass. Is the bright star above the tree Deneb?

I’m surprised the film could actually pick up the color of the bark from the leaves in the tree I left in frame. (I couldn’t see where it was in the viewfinder so I sort of guessed by aiming my LED flashlight).

Shot: 30 second bulb exposure with timer. Long exposure noise subtraction applied.

Adjustments: DxO Optics Pro (lens corrections, smart lighting, noise subtraction), exposure gained image from previous edit was masked back in around the trees (not the star field).

Issues: 30 second exposure was too long, you can see the star trails when you zoom in. The angle was so high that the auto-rotate feature in the camera got confused.
