The Road Not Taken
There are some roads in Texas that may only see a few travelers during a single day... and THIS is one of them! Last night was a chilly but otherwise perfect night with clear skies, a half moon, and a great night of light painting with my boys... (insert 4 claps here!) Deep in the Heart of Texas! This photo was taken only a few miles from the point that is known as "The Geographical Center of Texas". This shot was set up in the middle of the road and in the middle of the little town of Mercury, Texas. The population was reported to be 166 in 2000 but I think it is probably more like 30 at this point.
A funny little side story... I am probably one of a very few people in this world, if not the only one, that can truthfully say that I received a speeding ticket in Venus while on the the way back from Mercury! Ha! Yes... there is a Venus, Texas (population about 2,500) as well and it is a speed trap big time!! ;-)
