Stranger Number 9 | Willi

Jason, Billy and I worked up quite an appetite since arriving at Grand Central Station and walking up to 6th Avenue and 51st Street. It felt like our growling stomachs seemed to drown out the sound of New York City traffic

That is where we found Willi, my "stranger number 9", who was running the Halal Food Cart.

Mmm... A Sabrett hot dog with everything! Just what we needed; a delicious, quick and easy lunch synonymous with New York City.

Willi was pretty busy but happily obliged when I asked if I could take a few shots for the 100 Strangers Project.

Willi noticed Jason's accent and asked where we were from and if we were having a good time. Absolutely! He told us that he keeps pretty busy but loves what he does. From the line behind us, we (mostly locals) we realized Willi has quite a following.

When it came time to pay, we included a tip. I didn't think it was that big of a tip but Willi seemed very surprised and appreciative.

Bellies full, he wished us well and we were on our way to Central Park and my next Stranger.

Thank you, Willi!
