Around and Around
The imbroglio of this particular edifice is one that has played itself out in almost every American city at least once. It's a story of powerful, elected officials using taxpayer money to pay far above market rate for a derelict (albeit beautiful) building. The recipient of the largess (seller of the property) was most recently caught red-handed and charged with bribery. Sadly, the citizen is stuck with a crumbling, historic monument and over $5 million in debt.
I intend to chronicle the whole story on Bearings at some point in the near future.
