TSLAC Behind the Scenes: THF Tours the Texas State Archives 1.17.14
We were pleased to welcome the Texas Historical Foundation (THF) for a tour of the Texas State Archives. THF supports research in and publication of Texas history, assisting in the preservation of historic and prehistoric artifacts and information, and raising and providing funds for these purposes. Recently, the group supported the State Archives' ongoing effort to preserve the 19th century Texas Supreme Court case files in its keep. Read more about that effort in THF's Texas Heritage Magazine and on our website. During their tour THF was divided into groups and guided through certain points in our Lorenzo de Zavala Building. At each point they were able to meet with archives staff and receive a behind-the-scenes look at their work to preserve Texas history.
