Pura Batu Bolong - Tanah Lot, Bali

Pura Batu Bolong -Tanah Lot, Bali, Indonesia

Tanah Lot (Pura Tanah Lot), one of Bali's seven most important Hindu temples, is perched atop a gigantic chunk of rock jutting out into the sea that is only accessible during low tides and is often the final destination in tourists' itineraries. Located on the west coast of the island, sunset at Tanah Lot can be enjoyed at different spots. Short distance to the north of the famous Tanah Lot Temple you will see Pura Batu Bolong, a temple built on another rocky promontory with an archway under it (‘Bolong’ means hollow).

Visitors to Pura Batu Bolong tends to lump it with Tanah Lot, hence its name is not as familiar.
