Sun Goes Down

Possibly 80's wall poster material, this... ;-) Still - quite stunning, if I'm to say it myself. You should have been there. And it was taken on Boxing Day. The winter sunset colours were amazing. That lighthouse is one of a pair outside Arendal in Norway - Lille and Store Torungen Fyr. (This is Lille Torungen - I think.) They were built as twins to make them stand out from the lighthouses further west and east on the coast. This was taken with the S3 IS at max zoom and high shutter speed, and small aperture (f/8), see the EXIF data.

(I don't think the map locations for this are entirely accurate, I'll have to check with someone who knows these straits a little better than me.)

(My other photos of this lighthouse and it's twin.)

Highest placing in Explore: Explore No. 2 for Jan. 4th, 2006. Still usually in the top ten for that day.

Replaced with larger version, April 2014. It's nearly full size now, to be honest. The S3 IS files are so small by today's standards. :-)
