This was the one spot at Big Break aside from the tiny launching beach where I was able to stand on dry land. While I was doing that, trying not to step on an old rake and with a blackberry vine stuck to my shirt so that I couldn't reach my camera, a group of seven otters swam by. A couple of them stopped very briefly to give me some kind of inscrutable otter look.
I didn't see otters or any other mammals anywhere else at Big Break, but there were loads of fish, and a couple of hundred coots, and some Great Blue Herons, and a bunch of egrets. And some bugs. There may have been turtles, I couldn't tell for sure.
