Ode to the Roaring Glaciers

5d/16-35mm

I was feeling fairly poetic at the moment upon arriving at this scene coupled with the sentiments on a sign I had read earlier about the slowness of glacier movement:

Through heavy motion and traffic I arrive. To reach this stillness for which I strive. To see processes which have survived the heaviest forces of earth. To see the gifts of past glaciers in the forms of roaring-waterfall rebirths. These glaciers move slowly and subtly and their movement is imperceptible to human sight. But they have the audible power of an explosion cutting miles through the silence in their flight.
