Outback Star Trails - Karnet, Western Australia
Nikon d5100
Tokina 11-16mm @ 15mm
ISO 100
f2.8
80 x 30 second exposures stacked in startrails.exe
Taken during a full moon so a lot of the stars are washed out by the moonlight which results in less spectacular trails. On the plus side the moonlight lets the camera pick up so much more detail in the landscape, almost as if it were daytime, so no need for light painting.
The field itself is part of a minimum security prison farm in Perth, Western Australia called Karnet. I didn't know this until I arrived at the site and saw the signs. Luckily no prisoners decided to escape that night :)
