Blue-Footed Booby Fly-By

Amazing birds in the air, sea and on land!

Wikipedia “Blue-footed Boobies are specialized fish eaters feeding on small school fish like sardines, anchovies, mackerel, and flying fish. They’ll fold their wings back, point their bodies down like arrows and dive into the water. Plunge diving can be done from heights of 33–100 ft (10–30.5 m) and even up to 330 ft (100 m). These birds hit the water around 60 mph (97 km/h) and can go to depths of 82 ft (25 m) below the water surface. Their prey is usually eaten while the birds are still underwater.”

It’s a little disconcerting when you’re snorkeling and a booby enters the water just 1-2 meters away. I tried several times to take a photo but they’re too quick.
