Brilliant flowers of native Canchalagua (Centaurium venustum aka Zeltnera venusta, Gentianaceae)

These are brilliant little flowers of native Canchalagua (Centaurium venustum - aka Zeltnera venusta) in the unusual (for us) Gentianaceae plant family. If you do a web search, you'll find it is popular in homeopathy for a range of treatments. I would rather find the unusual summer flowers! (Lake Cachuma, Santa Ynez Valley, 12 June 2012)

I did get some new photos today, but I've been pretty preoccupied with getting ready for the upcoming Live Oak Music Festival.

Tomorrow might be hopeless with shopping to do and a meeting in the evening. And Thursday afternoon, the festival line-up for camping spots starts! This might well be my last post for a week...
