The Smiler

The Smiler

Sights of the “Smiler” were first reported in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1905. He was thought to be some kind of a missing link because of his ape-like appearance. He was actually a local resident named Harry Stamp, who groomed himself rather shabbily and often was mistaken for a very tall monkey. He was called the “Smiler”, because of his constant grin and ability to make others laugh uncomfortably by making strange noises with his eyelids and armpits.
