2011-04-15 Gambia, Albreda Village - street near the shore looking up at the homes. It is known for being the location of Roots and the alleged home of Kunta Kinte; it was an important slave depot .
Typical of West African villages, Albreda has straight wide streets and rectangular mud houses with porches. There is little vegetation but a few big trees provide occasional shade and are planted by the villagers.
