Red Tailed Hawk hiding in the tree. Thinks we can't see him.

Enjoyed a winter outing on the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway watching wildlife along the way.

The byway is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, and offers visitors a chance to see abundant wildlife particularly during the spring and fall while experience small town Americana in small towns like Halfway, Richland and Newbridge, as they explore the rugged and spectacular Northeast Oregon landscape along the way.

Hwy 86 between Baker City and the Hells Canyon Dam at the bottom of the canyon is open year round providing visitors access to the deepest river gorge in North America.
