Kicking Horse Canyon
Near Golden, BC, the Trans-Canada Highway winds through the Kicking Horse Canyon in the Rocky Mountains where breathtaking scenery and wildlife are abundant.

Improvements to 26 kilometres of the highway under the Kicking Horse Canyon Project include four-laning, new bridges and alignments, wildlife overpasses, and other measures to protect travellers in an area subject to many rockslides, debris torrents and avalanches.

The first three phases of this project have been completed, bringing the total length of the finished improvements to over 21 kilometres out of the total project length of 26 kilometres. Phase 4, the most challenging of the project, has begun. More information and photos at:
