This 0-4-2 loco was built by David Curwen in 1950 for a railway at Coate Water Park in Swindon. It arrived at Exmouth in 1953 where it carried the number 1750. In 1960 another more powerful Curwen loco arrived and 1750 then saw little use. In 1968 it was swapped for a huge petrol loco which had previously operated on the private North Tawton Railway in Devon. It still survives today on a private railway in Wiltshire
The railway at Exmouth, located next door to the famous model railway on the seafront, lasted for 65 years from 1950 to closure in 2015.
