Wengernalpbahn (WAB) and Jungfraubahn (JB)
The Wengernalpbahn is an 800mm gauge 19km long Riggenbach rack railway that runs from Grindelwald to Lauterbrunnen via Kleine Scheidegg and Wengen. It connects with the metre gauge Berner Oberland Bahn at both Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen and with the metre gauge Jungfraubahn at Kleine Scheidegg. The line was fully opened in 1893 using steam traction and was electrified in 1910.

The metre gauge Jungfraubahn runs for 9km from Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe (3,454 m). Most of the line runs in a tunnel bored through the Eiger and Mönch mountains and uses the Strub rack system. The line opened in 1912 after 16 years of construction and was electrified using the three-phase system from the start.
