RD10914. WINIFRED at Llanuwchllyn.

RD10914. Built by the Hunslet Engine Company in 1885 for the Penrhyn Slate Quarry in North Wales, this is 1'10½" gauge 0-4-0ST WINIFRED.

She was sold to an American in 1965 and had languished across The Pond, still in the condition she was when she left Penrhyn, until returned to the UK in 2012. Now a resident at the Bala Lake Railway, WINIFRED still carries the original Penrhyn livery which was applied in the 1950s.
