On the rocks

Large on Black

The Ozarks Highlands, although not as massive as The Rockies or the Appalachians in size, can have some very brutal terrain. Some of the cliffs in the Buffalo River Valley are perfect examples of this. You will realize why the Forest Service has to place warning signs like this one seen on comments section in wilderness access points. Unfortunately, we do have some naturally wild and "adaptive wild" animals frequenting the areas. I dont know which kind managed to damage the warning sign!

I love this place. It is not very popular, it is quiet, peaceful and beautifully rugged. The interesting thing I found in the canyon is that the rocks were arranged by nature like a rock garden :-) What do you think?

Upper Buffalo Wilderness,

Newton County, AR.

PS: Womble food available aplenty ;-)

Have a great Thursday!
