Sense of Place - Ironmonger Lane, London

Sense of Place. Ironmonger Lane. Being a Londoner, one of my favourite pastimes is exploring streets (especially very old streets that most of the time you stumble upon) where you can't quite see what's around the corner - in this case, Ironmonger Lane, which is a narrow one way street and has had this name since around the 12th Century. It runs between Gresham St and Old Jewry, not too far from The Guildhall. For my creation I've included my fascination with clocks and timepieces, the passing of time and how important it is for me to use it wisely, explore new frontiers and see where the path might lead. This grungy artwork I created is a composite of three different photographs - taken at different times,my windy street was back in 2014, the winter tree was taken a few days ago - along with several textures, layer masks, brushes, adjustment layers and blend modes at various opacity. I am having a lot of fun, but something tells me the fun hasn't even started yet :-)
