Mercedes Benz F 125 Concept - 2012 CES - Las Vegas, NV
the F 125! envisions what a mercedes two-door coupe of the future could look like. the car features two giant gullwing doors, seating for four, and an evolution of the large-grille front-end seen in other M-B concepts, like the F700 and F800. like many other german eco-concepts, the car uses an extensive amount of special materials to keep weight low: the body is said to be made out of aluminum, plastic, and carbon fiber.
under the long, sloping hood sits a hydrogen fuel cell that powers a lithium-ion battery pack and four electric motors. a lithium-ion battery pack provides for 30 miles of pure electrified travel; for longer trips, a hydrogen fuel cell stack theoretically extends range by 595 miles. the F 125! shouldn't be a slouch, either: it reportedly sports a 0-60 mph time of 4.9 seconds, and hit a top end of 137 mph.
