Little Mermaid Cake /Torta de La Sirenita
I will never understand why character cakes rarely get prizes... especially when they are so much tougher to make!!!!
This "excited Ariel" Topper was a freacking nightmare to make and I am not totally satisfied with it even after attempting to model her face... probably 100 times in one morning...
It ended up being too puffy... I think it looks like Ariel after her first botox shots or sthg...
Anyways... Client was very pleased and apparently the little girl was over the clouds happy.
I, at least, survived my first hand modeled smile. I am not eagar to try anything like this any time soon, so my figurines will remain serious and taciturn for a while.
Ariel was modeled in cold porcelain as per the client`s request. The botox look I blame partially on the strange way cold porcelain shrinks a little when drying... but I must own up and accept I overstated Ariels cheeks a little so...
Anyways. At least I am very happy with my job on the rock (like it very much) and little waves from the board.
Size: 50 portions in this cake.
