Stretch Marks

    Newer Older

Part of my new series "The realities of pregnancy and motherhood".
Don't get me wrong- I'm thrilled to be pregnant- I just feel like most people aren't honest about what it's REALLY like to be pregnant, or to be a mother.

my wife went through some cream like crazy, she quickly went from an A cup to double D's...she felt like her body was trying to explode on her....plenty of cream was used everywhere..she liked coconut oil...but mostly shea butter....the line that appeared down her belly made her a little wierded out, but she finally decided it was cool...and she decided that she too loved what was going on with her body...even the morning and afternoon sickness...it was part of it all.

I can't believe I'm just seeing this, but I wanted to tell you that was EXACTLY my reality too...didn't get the bastards anywhere but the boobs, but I guess it's to be expected when I had to shop for an H-cup size bra...yeah.

the stretch marks do often fade eventually... pregnancy is intense! i went through the experience of teen pregnancy, it's pretty intense when you're still developing at the same time you're growing a new human.

Very courageous of you to share this!

If you adjust your sense of 'perfection' to include the miracle of bringing children into the world with your body, stretch marks are a record of your achievement and not a 'flaw.' Your ability to give birth is what is important. I cherish my wife's stretch marks, though they are not pronounced, because they remind me of the process of birthing the children we have together.

Two thumbs up for showing yourself honestly to the world! You should be proud.
