Day 063/365 - Goodbye original Red Robin

    Newer Older

My first venture into 120 medium format film is the original Red Robin, at the south end of Seattle's University Bridge. After some 40 years in business, the store is closing for good March 21, its historic building deemed too expensive to maintain.

According to research, The 0.36-acre property has been listed for sale for $2.5 million since last year and has been marked for redevelopment into a mixed-use building with 29 residential units and 5,000 square feet of retail. space.

Just what Seattle needs - another damn condo!

That is sad -- seems like it should be saved as a landmark. Too bad.

This has a vintage feel which I dig - however, perhaps it would have benefited from slightly better framing. However, like I said - I totally dig the colors and vintage feel of it.

COMMENTSCOMMENTSCOMMENTS I'm not sure if the photograph conveys the sentiments that your explanation gives, but it still has an kinda old style feeling about it.
