Moonrise over the Spurwink
I had hoped to get the moon coming up over the wreck of the Middleton, but the tide came up faster than the moon, so I focused on the moonrise over the mouth of the river.
It still amazes me how fast the tide rolls in here. In the 45 minutes that I waited for the moon to clear the trees, the tide completely covered the wreck (which is out of the frame to the right).
Sometimes the "settled for" shots come out pretty nice too!
