Here is another gown I have made in anticipation of the upcoming American Girl doll Caroline of 1812. I have chosen an orchid colored print - a premium reproduction cotton. The hemline of the lined skirt is rimmed with an ornate velvet trim, hand applied. The sash is made of orchid lace. The lined bodice closes with two small pale orchid buttons, and handworked button loops.

I have made the dress short enough for the doll's pantalettes to show. My doll's pantalettes are riding on her hips, rather than her waist, to make them ankle length, as was the custom for girls in the early 1800s. Interior seams are serged. My name label is sewn inside.
