Lovely composition for a lovely photo of this fantastic home!!! (Fantastic blue sky background!!!) Thanks for sharing!!!! I often deviate my route just to pass by this lovely home in Calvert. Since our daughter & family have moved to Burleson from the Houston area our normal route has become Highway 6 but as I love to "explore" I often "get off the beaten path" to find new, historic, and interesting things, this has been one of my many discoveries. The plans for this lovely Queen Anne style house built in 1897 by Lee Henderson Parish were ordered through a mail-order catalog from George F. Barber of Knoxville, TN, known for his exuberant Queen Anne style houses. It also has a carriage house built from Barber plans.
    Seen in Top 20 Texas.

I grew up just on the other side of the cemetery from this house. I was always fascinated with that window in the chimney. Was in the house quite a few times in the past. One owner, who tried to restore the house, was badly injured in a fall from scaffolding. Glad that it has finally been restored and is being used. The carriage house in back is very interesting too.
