Walt Disney World's Summer Nightastic! Fireworks Spectacular Grand Finale (75 Second Exposure)
Walt Disney World Resort
Main Street, USA
Shooting the Summer Nightastic! Fireworks was quite the challenge for me. The most difficult part of the equation was the crowds. I've been to fireworks in August, Thanksgiving, and other times of the year, but have never encountered the consistently elbow to elbow crowds that we encountered every single night of Summer Nightastic. In addition to that difficulty, which flat out precluded me from shooting the show twice, I also had to learn the ropes of the ND filter (so the first show I shot was pretty much a wash). Also because of the ND filter, each of my shots was 60 seconds to 3 minutes in duration, meaning I have fewer shots, so any errors in an individual shot is more harming because it thus eliminates a greater percentage of usable shots. Still, and despite these issues, I am somewhat satisfied with how I did.
...If you're going to be down at Nightastic shooting the show this summer, good luck!
