Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - HDR

Something tells me you're not unlocking this door with the key of imagination. After the recent success of other Flickr contacts at posting their shots from the Studios, I decided to try my hand at a Tower of Terror shot for today.

I spent a lot of time back in this area on our recent trip. Part of it may have been me scraping off the rust, but I wasn't pleased with most of these shots. I don't think I made the most of the UWA, and I wish I had done some things differently. I like this shot alright, but I feel it doesn't bring anything new to the table (plus there's all sorts of odd unintentional distortion in it).

This shot is a two exposure HDR merged in Photoshop CS3 with the layers masked back on top of the HDR, and some more stuff done to it. No tone mapping was performed. Much time was spent making the saturation correct in the Tower.

~Life by the Drop~ You're not the only one who it gave ideas. Unfortunately, all of my ideas came after reviewing the shot about a month after the fact. Always next time; hopefully yours are different than mine...

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Travelling: Through the lens, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

      It's the light of course.

Amazing job with this!!!! And I like that 3rd exposure shot. Gives the subject an ultimately spooky feel. And the greens swirls in the bottom right kinda look like the ghostly family you see on the ride..... if i remember correctly.

Yeah, that 3rd exposure would not have mapped in well. I have looked this over and can not see any improvements to make. Well done.

Your HDR works is really impressive.

I know what you mean. I have done the same thing on a Bracketed exposure set. I forgot the camera was set and started taking pictures. Could not figure out why only every third shot had correct exposure. Doh. I think this turn out great considering. Maybe you could say the last shot caught all the ghosts coming from the Tower. Yea that's the ticket.

PhotographyDR (Doug) I have done this several times as well. Cameras need some sort of reminders. I wish it would speak to me: "Tom, you just left Haunted Mansion; you don't want to use ISO 6400 outdoors during the day!"
