Trestle Star Trails
50 minute nighttime exposure of one of the reconstructed trestles in Myra Canyon, B.C.
A forest fire in 2003 destroyed 12 of the 18 trestles in the area as well as 239 homes and 250 square Kilometers of forest. The railway, abandoned in the late 1970's, had been converted some years ago into a trail several kilometers in length and is part of the Trans-Canada Trail. The reconstruction effort of the entire area was completed in May 2008 and is open once again to the public.
