Benjamin P. Worthington home

A photo retrieved from the Library of Congress files showing the Alabama home built by Benjamin Pinkney Worthington (1814-1884) in what is now the Avondale area of Birmingham. It was built between 1859 and 1865 and stood until 1953. It was equipped with the first water system in the area supplied by springs under what is now Rushton Park on Highland Avenue.

Benjamin Pinkney Worthington was my 4th great granduncle.
