A scene, perhaps unchanged since rice farming began?
Here is a rice farmer in Sumatra, Indonesia. He provides for his family, earning perhaps USD$5 per day. Perhaps he should have studied harder at school but its a vicious cycle: his parents made him work as soon as he was physically able to provide for his family.
Very little upward career progression, very little chance of savings, its a real 'hand to mouth' existence. And all the while in a global recession the west wastes more food than ever before and obesity continues to spread.
