Charles Darwin

(Part of a UK pound note)

Survival of the 'fittest' -- money-holders

Capitalist social darwinism --

which synchs up with other British currency that celebrates Adam Smith's perspective

The common thread here is the promotion of cut-throat competition.

Darwin promotes such competition by making it seem as though it is all there is in nature.

He has a point, of course, but he ignores mutual aid (e.g. sharing).

But Darwin's point of view is only an approach to animals and wider natural environments; social Darwinism is a modified and extended form of Darwinism, to apply to people.

People can choose to the path of anti-hierarchical mutual aid, however.
