Workers from all over Wisconsin and their supporters from all over the country gathered for several weeks to protest then Governor Walker's budget cuts to teachers salaries and the unions that support them, the right to negotiate teachers' pay, and unions. Under this legislation, the prestigious state funded University of Madison-Wisconsin would have suffered from budget cuts. Additionally, Badger health care would no longer be available to workers who do not have health care packages. Since then, Walker is still in office, but not for long due to the recent elections in Wisconsin. I was at the protests in February 2011. Check out the contributed reporting and photographs I did for Alternet.org and WLUW 88.7 FM Chicago's Labor Express Radio.
